Prelude

IMG_1352

OK so I’ll confess, I’m no Betty Crocker. My taste buds are satisfied with PB&J and I still turn my nose up to tomatoes, guacamole, and most sea-food. Thankfully over the past couple years, my palette has graduated from the kids menu and I’m starting to enjoy trying new things.

I live alone, so it’s kind of pointless to cook fancy-schmancy meals every night. I stick to a handful of classic recipes that are satisfying, clean and healthy, but I’ll try something new occasionally to switch things up. When I do try something new and like it, I’ll make it repeatedly until I really love the outcome and then scribble it down in my cookbook… and now my blog.

It’s ok not to be perfect in the kitchen! There is no such thing as a recipe that pleases every palette, and I’m sure you’ll nearly burn the house down once or twice like I have. But that’s the beauty of cooking! Trying new things, adding your own touch to recipes and getting to taste all the yumminess in the process :)

So lets step away from the microwaveable meals and get our aprons messy.

What do you love to make!?

The only thing I can make is ‘out of the box’ cookies or cakes or cupcakes. I am never good at making all the cakes and cupcakes from scratch. I’m terrible. But one day soon, hopefully I can make them as healthy and nutritious too. For example, like you, your food posts are healthy and looks delicious! I’m also starting to learn how to cook traditional foods at home from my Mum and Grandma. :)
